Plein Soleil

Surrounded with sunlight and a unique vivid blue sky, Rob and Nick Carter take you on a trip to the South of France. The series of diptychs showcased in the exhibition Plein Soleil are a sensual journey through the joyful and colourful landscapes of the Cote d’Azur which was a transformative place for so many artists. Revisiting the stories of avant garde artists like Matisse, Picasso and more, the artists conceived an innovative series of robot paintings depicting iconic subjects of the modern painting era.

The vibrant colours, the light and the energy of the brushstrokes can only make the viewer wonder if these paintings are truly untouched by human hands. 

They demonstrate that any kind of art is always about emotions and experience.
